This event is a chance to see a complete refurbishment & extension of a 'Victorian Gentleman's Residence'. The tour addresses the issues of updating insulation, heating & 21st century facilities in an 1856 property, including the complete refurbishment of what was a 'museum', created by a previous owner and used as an annex. This is now fully accessible at ground floor level and has increased capacity so the house is now able to sleep seven people. The owners have used rigid hemp insulation and a bamboo floor.

The owners will also talk through the installation of a 45kW Windhager biomass automatic pellet feed heating system by Greenfields of Penrith.

Please note that building works are on-going and the ground is likely to be muddy and uneven.
